Should I remodel my stairs before or after I install flooring?
The proper order of installation is very important. If you are putting in new carpet or tile the stair railing needs to go in first. With solid hardwood floors is is generally better to put it in before the railing. With LVT and laminate flooring the order in not as important. We can put the railing in before or after but we need to know what flooring you will be using to help you corordnate the process.
When should I plan and design my new stairs or railing?
The sooner in the build or remodel process that you plan out your banister and stair design the better. You need to make sure the framing of the stairs is done in away to accomendate your finished stair idea. On a remodel you will want to plan your railing while you plan your flooring. cabinets or paint. You also have to allow for the time to build your railing and the installation schedule.
Can you match a stain or paint color from our house?
We can match the stain color of your wood railing to your cabinets or wood floor is most cases. With laminate and LVT we can use a stain and wood type that will be very close or compliment your floor. Paint is pretty easy to match.
Do you stain and finish the railing and stairs before or after they are installed?
We like to finish as much as possible before the material is installed. The finish can have a strong smell and can become airborn. We like to finish the wood outside or off site. With all stairs there will be a small amount of touchup after the installation and the process is much cleaner that finishing the stairs after they are installed.
