Horizontal stair railings are an exciting option for your banister. You have a choice between round steel bars and stainless steel cables. The bars come in black, gray and stainless colors and the bar diameters are 5/8 of an inch or 1/4 of an inch. Horizontal railings add a sleek and modern look to your home. You can use wood box posts or metal posts for the railing.
This railing has modern square posts and handrails in natural hickory with stainless steel round horizontal bars.

We built this railing using natural hickory and stainess steel bars. The newell post has a modern dado cut in the top.
This was a challenging railing to build. We used stainless steel cables that ran through the x shaped wood. THe wood is white oak stained to complement the floor.
