This is a great example of a modern stairway design with a craftsman influence. We started the railing design with natural white oak.
The newel posts have a flat recessed panel that is part of a crafstman look. The modern influence is the metal balusters. The balusters are round with no shoes giving them a sleek look. The balusters are hand hammered with a double knuckle pattern that hints at an old world look.
This stair railing updated the 30 year old house and added sophistication and a comfortable feel.
